During one afternoon in Hood River, I decided to hop on the Mount Hood Railroad. It was a 4-hour, 21-mile, narrated tour with views of Mount Hood, Mount Adams, and the surrounding orchards and farmland of the Hood River Valley. It passed through the communities of Pine Grove, Odell, and Dee before reaching the southern end of the line at the Clear Creek Station in Parkdale. There was time to get off the train, explore Parkdale, and eat lunch (they had the best pears!) before heading back to the station in Hood River. It was a great trip. And a great afternoon.
