Portland: The Columbia River
The hotel in Hood River that I checked into was the Best Western Hood River Inn. It's located right on the shore of the Columbia River with waterfront access and a private beach. My third-floor room had fantastic views from the balcony, super high ceilings, and double windows. Just gorgeous. (It's no wonder I decided to stay three nights!) During the day I did more sightseeing, during the evening I relaxed with a good book, and at night I fell asleep to the sound of the moving river.

Those pictures are so beautiful. Sounds like you had an amazing time!
Can I please go with you next time? Remember the year we camped along the Columbia River? Scott was SO little, and he was totally mesmerized by the river and the trains. Time flies when you're having fun, doesn't it?
