Dana Point

There is just something so incredibly wonderful about the beach. Don't ya think? So spending a couple of days in Dana Point before heading to Los Angeles for work was a no-brainer. I ended up at the hotel we used to go to as a family every year and it was like going home. So familiar. So peaceful. They even serve those same Swenhard danishes for breakfast. (The raspberry ones are still my favorite.) :)

I had a room on the third floor, in the front, with a private balcony and beautiful view of the Pacific. And I pretty much just sat there for three days straight.

Ok, lest you think I really did just sit there like a slug the entire time, I did head down to the harbor one afternoon to eat lunch at Jon's . . .

And one morning I wasted a full tank of gas driving along the coast. Mom and Dad let me take the Mustang and I'm happy to report that I took full advantage . . .

But honestly, there's nothing I love more than just watching the ocean. Feeling the cool breeze, smelling the salt water, fighting the imminent burn on my lily-white skin. Oh, it's the best form of therapy.

When Mark was working in California his apartment was about 10 minutes from this temple. It IS pretty, isn't it? So different and unique. Lucky you to be able to be in that part of southern California.

Major homesick moment. Wail.

And really? John's fish market? The ONLY place you visited? Hmmm......
